Missing teeth? Ask our skilled dentist about dental implants!
Dental implants are designed as permanent replacements for your missing teeth. An implant consists of two main parts: the implant post and the implant restoration. The implant post replaces the tooth roots, working to improve your oral function, stimulate supporting bone tissue and provide a stable foundation for your new tooth. This post is surgically placed into your jawbone and is followed by a period of healing to allow it to integrate properly with supporting bone.
After this period of healing, our dentist can create your implant restoration. Depending on how many teeth you are replacing, the restoration may be a single crown, a bridge, or a complete or partial denture. Your restoration will be custom made to ensure that it looks and feels natural and fully restores your oral function.
Almost everyone who is missing teeth is a candidate for dental implants. However, you do need to be healthy in order to receive an implant. If you have a pre-existing condition such as bone loss, periodontal disease or tooth decay, you will need to receive treatment for that condition before you can receive an implant.
Your implant is designed to look, feel and function like your original tooth and requires the same care. If you practice good oral hygiene at home and receive regular preventive care from our dentist, your implant can last for a lifetime.
